Scholarships for 2014-2015

Applications due March 1, 2014


Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges (TACTYC) is pleased to announce seven scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for use by the winners during the 2014-2015 academic year.
  • Five scholarships will be awarded to two-year college graduating students that are pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Accounting at a four-year institution.

Requirements:

1. Have completed at least 20 college semester credit hours, six of which must be in accounting, by the END of Spring 2014.

2. Have minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

3. Be currently attending a two-year college as a full-time or a part-time student with plans to
transfer to a four-year institution (enrolling in at least 6 hours) in a Bachelors Degree program in Accounting for the 2014-2015 academic year.

4. Provide transcripts which verify requirements 1, 2 and 3. If transcript does not indicate courses in progress for the Spring 2014 semester, additional documentation must be provided. The transcripts may be an unofficial copy.

5. Have made a commitment to a career in accounting.

6. Provide a one-to-two page self-description which includes academic and professional goals.

7. Complete a one-to-two page essay answering the required questions for the “Creative Sweets” case study.

8. Be recommended by an accounting faculty member. Faculty member will be e-mailed for a recommendation.

  • Two scholarships will be awarded to students that are currently pursuing a two-year degree in Accounting.

Requirements:

accounting, by the END of Spring 2014.

continue at a two-year college (enrolling in at least 6 hours) with a major in accounting for the
2014-2015 academic year.

4. Provide transcripts which verify requirements 1, 2 and 3. If transcript does not indicate courses in progress for the Spring 2014 semester, additional documentation must be provided. The transcripts may be an unofficial copy.

5. Have made a commitment to a career in accounting.

6. Provide a one-to-two page self-description which includes academic and professional goals.

7. Compose a one page business letter answering the required questions based on the guidelines at the end of the application.

8. Be recommended by an accounting faculty member. Faculty member will be e-mailed for a
recommendation.

Every year TACTYC awards several scholarships to students who are selected and meet eligible criteria. These criteria are based on completion of college credit hours, grade point average,
recommendations, and a commitment to a career in accounting.
