2020 J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook/Deloitte Foundation winner

Connie Belden

Butler Community College (KS)

“As a teacher, I feel two things are important: 1) being a nurturer to increase the learner’s capacity to engage, including being supportive during difficult times, and 2) to prepare my students for being successful in the future, which in most cases is continuing their education and entering the accounting field.

I strive each day to be an instrument of change for my student’s by engaging them in learning and doing what I can to have a positive supportive effect on their lives."

The American Accounting Association/J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook/Deloitte Foundation Prize is the foremost recognition of an individual who consistently demonstrates the attributes of a superior teacher in the discipline of accounting.
