Gerald Childs is a full-time faculty member at Waukesha County Technical College located in Pewaukee WI, which is part of the metropolitan Milwaukee area. Gerald has been teaching at the college since 2009 and is the lead faculty member for Managerial Accounting, Payroll Accounting, Accounting Information Systems and QuickBooks. His teaching experience includes writing curriculum and teaching classes across various models, including online and hybrid.
Gerald has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee since 2012 and teaches financial and managerial accounting in the Executive MBA program, graduate school and undergraduate school. Gerald has public accounting experience with Deloitte and Touche and held various management roles, including corporate planning manager and controller at Eaton Corporation before coming to the college. Gerald graduated with a MS in accounting from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University and a BBA in finance from Howard University.
Gerald is active in his community and church and speaks to different organizations, including youth groups, about financial literacy and various careers in business. He serves on the board of Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges as a member at large; and on his church board as a deacon and past chairman of the board of trustees. Gerald is also a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the National Association of Black Accountants. Gerald is married with two sons and enjoys working out, jogging and bike riding.
