Larry is currently the Department Chair and Professor of Accounting at Austin Community College District in Austin, Texas. Previously, he taught at both Blinn College and Northern Michigan University. Larry began his career in education in 2009 after more than 20 years of accounting and tax experience in the oil and gas and electric utility industries. He holds JD and LL.M. degrees from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Sam Houston State University.
Larry has served as VP of Conference Planning and Professional Liaison Chair for TACTYC since 2019, and is an active member of the TXCPA Professional Ethics Committee. He is also a member of AICPA-CIMA, the American Accounting Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Texas Community College Teachers Association, and is an advisory member of the CPE Committee for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Larry is a recipient of the TXCPA's Outstanding Educator Award and the American Accounting Association's J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook / Deloitte Foundation Prize.
